Superheroes of KEMING!

Camps been over for a few days now and hope you had a good rest. It was a pleasure taking you on and turning you from normal civilians to genuine Superhereos. As you go back to your classrooms and you go about your daily routines, do remember the lessons that you have learned in Kryptonite. Remember that though we have vanquished Dr Do Evil, his habits and evil doings can easily come back to haunt you. You need to be strong and resist the temptations and distractions that may come. You always have the power to fight against this just like how you did during the camp. Just remember the 5 success principles that you have learnt and practised :

1) Choices have Consequences

2) There is no failure, only learning experiences

3) If you cant then you must

4) Do it once do it fast do it right!

5) All for one One for All

Just like how you memorised these principles and said it out loud during the camp, it is now time to TAKE ACTION and make it part of your life. So in anything that you do, remember to PAUSE. and think about the success principles! This is the shortcut to success!!

And remember, in everything that you do, ALWAYS SEEK GOODNESS in OTHERS!

Battle @ Kryptonite

Finally it was time. To fight Dr Do Evil and get rid of the evil menace. However, only the worthy will be able to fight and successfully win the evil legions and banish them forever. Dr Do Evil came and conquered the field of Kryptonite. At any point in time, one hero team had to keep him at bay by fighting and warding off his evil minions. The rest of us had to fight mini battles to prove our worth. At each mini battle station, there was a challenging task to do. We had to work together as a team, use the success principles in practice and change our strategy till we mastered certain skills. Once we had done that, we would obtain a password and go to Shifu – Professor Jive. He will determine if the password, the secret ingredient was the right one and if we were worthy of fighting Dr Do Evil. After a few rounds of finding and fighting, it was Harvey Norman that found the secret ingredient and it read :

There is no secret ingredient. It actually is nothing. As long as you believe, you got it. Whatever you can conceive and perceive you can achieve. You got it in you. It is your destiny to fight Dr Do Evil. Now gather all the hero teams together, select a worthy representative from each group, combine forces and fight Dr Do Evil and diminish him for good!

And so we did, with our army of heroes successfully destroyed the Dr Do Evil castles that had been planted on the field.

But heres the twist-Dr Do Evil we did not destroy, instead we gave him a chance to repent. He became good. Heres the lesson : We always need to seek the goodness in other people, give them a chance and embrace forgiveness. If we seek the goodness in people, goodness will come to us. Smile and always find only the good in people, junior heroes.

Royal Rumble

The next morning we played this game called the great raid. Each group had to build their superhero hq around the area. Then we were each given battleships to attack other battleships or superhero hqs. This was a test of resilience and strategy. Every time we wanted to attack each other we had to say WHOOSAY!! and both parties had to squat down waiting for the superhero coach to come. They would then issue a challenge, and whoever won this challenge would win the hq or battleships. This was a game of challenge, doing whatever it takes to get to our outcome, resilience, and getting up again and again and again every time we face failure or setbacks! And how fun it was…

Superhero Identity

At night, we played this game called HERO IDENTITY. We were instructed to pick up golden beans around Kryptonite. Then we could pick up 10,20,30 or 70 beans and exchange for tidbits and coke at the market. However, when we did that we made the mistake of leaving our camp booklets lying around. The whole day it has bee emphasized that this represented our identity. So in search of short term benefit, we actually neglected something that is truly important to us, our values, our identities. From here we learnt that sometimes we need to have the integrity and principle of living up to our values and not get distracted by short term gains and distractions. We also learnt to do the right thing and not be easily swayed by what others are doing around us or the bad things that people may suggest to us. Professor Jive actually said that our identity means everything to us….without it we are nothing. Have you found out or realized what are your values and identity?

The Academy of Super Strength

In the afternoon, Dr Do Evil made an appearance at the top of Mount Kryptonite. He poured evil slime in an attempt to scare us. But Professor Jive and the Superheroes managed to scare him away. For now… Professor Jive said it is up to us to gain our powers fast because it is our destiny to fight the evil ways of Dr Do Evil ! Just like KUNG FU PANDA. So Professor Cheryl took over and took over our training for the day. To defeat Dr Do Evil and all things evil we need brain and brawn, give 100 per cent and realised our true powers within us!

 We climbed over the mountains and crossed over the rivers. Some of the activities were very very tough and we were definitely pushed to the limit. We learnt a lot about the school value resilience- the ability to move on in a difficult challenge no matter what setbacks and obstacles we are up against. In the end we felt happy, cos we did our best to go beyond our potential, stretch ourselves to do something we never thought could be possible. This academy wasnt like any classroom lessons in school, not even like the cartoon superheroes on TV. From here, we had a lot of fun yet we learnt a lot of new things about ourselves. And at the end of it all, Professor Strikes declared that we had successfully gained  our powers and can now move on to the next level in our quest to find against Dr Do Evil. With great power comes great responsibility.

Fighting the Evil Menace

We got acquainted with our superheroes, our guardians of the day. The professors as well. The professors truly believed that we can realise our hero power over the next 24 hours. Then together we can defeat Dr Do Evil. Professor Jive said that before that we got to have certain values:

1) Give 100 Per Cent. Everything we do we do it excellently and do it well. Give it our best.

2) Before we act, we need to think because choices have consequences. We make choices and these choices has effects. If we dont like what happens to us, we need to change our choices. So we need to choose to win.

3) Discipline is something we dont like to do now but will have rewards for us later!

4) There is no failure only learning experience. We should not complain about what happens to us. Each setback is only a learning opportunity to do better!

5) Together we achieve more. We always need to do things together, look our for our friends and only by thinking about each other and acting together we can achieve many more things- and get rid of Dr Do eVIL. 

Arrival at Kryptonite

We arrived safely at Kryptonite as we got accustomed and acquainted with our new home for the next 52 hours. We got new beds, toilets of a different kind and a whole new experience. It is over here that we will begin our journey to fight Dr Do Evil and get rid of the evil menace. We got into our hero teams and we shall now begin our next exciting adventure. Everything looks different from Keming Primary School. We hope to have the time of our life in this next 3 days and 2 nights!

A Special Broadcast from The Jive.

 Attention Attention!! Kryptonite is at risk because Dr Do Evil has broken out of prison and is coming back to attack and take over the city! Professor Jive is in need of help! His disciples, the Furious 5, the Fantastic 5 and the Fabulous 5 have been trained but they are not good enough to take down Dr Do Evil. We need young and capable superheroes…found in the city of Keming to help us with the cause! And together with Professor Jive our Shifu, we will take down the evil legions of Dr Do Evil and protect Kryptonite from ruins! Boys and Girls, from now on you will be known as Junior Heroes! Two weeks from now we will begin our showdown with Dr Do Evil at Kryptonite. And first we must get ready. These are the items we need to bring for our special mission:

1) Special Energizing Liquid Called H2O packaged in bottles. 1.5 litre water bottles or big bottles of your own. Compulsory Item!

2) Hero Cape in Protection of the Elements and Weather. Your Raincoats or Ponchos. Absolutely Essential.

3) Writing Materials so that you can learn the art of kung fu and superhero stuff in the whiff of time. We will provide you with special Hero Manuals!

4) 4 Sets of Clothing, School-based shirts and shorts. 

5) Footwear-Shoes and Socks at all times. Slippers only for individual body maintenance,ie when you go bathe. Can bring extra shoes and socks if you want.

6) Necessary Equipment for Individual Body Maintenance (bathing will be known as IBM from now on!) Remember Dr Do Evil’s monkeys will catch you and tickle you if you never brush your teeth!

7) A smile on your face and a positive spirit. Because as long as we give 100 per cent, there will always be hope and we can always defeat Dr Do Evil.
